Rare used books are easier to find than rare books that are in mint condition. You might be collecting books by a certain author, or a certain subject. Whatever you collect, most books you find will be in different states of disrepair. You might get lucky and find one in mint condition. Working closely with a dealer is a good idea as he can lead you to more books than working yourself.
