Pricing Antique Books
When it comes to pricing antique books, one has to see availability, condition and age. And not all old antique books are collectable. The best way to try to figure out a price is getting an antique pricing guide. That can say a lot but it may not be exhaustive. Another venue would be to get your book appraised by someone who does it for a living, what you want to do is to get it appraised at two or three different places and average it out. You will get a more accurate number that way too.
Sometimes people will pay more for sentimental reasons. It is hard to put a value on that. If someone has to have something then he will pay directly proportionate to his need. Needs may differ so the price will differ. That is why pricing antique books is more of an art than a science.
